Two of Medicine Hat’s most talented young women are showcased this month. May I introduce Shannon McCubbin and Kelly Warkentin? These outstanding students are seniors at Crescent Heights High School. Both jointly choreographed this year’s production of “Guys and Dolls,” which closed another sold out run from February 6 through the 15th. Both girls started dancing from age three, Shannon studying at Hanson School of Dance, and Kelly through the College program. The CHHS Theater Arts Program, headed up by Jennifer Davies is famous for delivering Broadway productions on a grand scale. A fifteen piece orchestra complimented the show. Patrons are hard pressed to remember that the performing thespians and dancers are students; ranging from grade seven to twelve. This is the raw material that our March Spotlight recipients, Kelly and Shannon, molded into a spectacle beautiful to behold.
