Fumitake Igarashi is a composer and producer whose career reflects a rare balance of musical discipline, adaptability, and cross-cultural fluency. Originally from Japan, Igarashi has built an international body of work spanning global advertising campaigns, broadcast television, large-scale events, and performance, positioning him as a versatile creative force in modern media music.
Igarashi began playing piano at the age of five, training intensively through lessons, competitions, and performance throughout his childhood in Japan. At twenty, driven by a belief in music as a universal language, he moved alone to the United States with no English proficiency and no established network. He enrolled at Berklee College of Music in 2000 as a Performance major, where his musicianship quickly distinguished him among his peers.
During his time at Berklee, Igarashi worked as a keyboardist supporting acclaimed artists including Grammy-nominated singer Brian McKnight and Lalah Hathaway. While performance was his original focus, his career shifted when he was introduced to commercial composition through a close friend. That friend’s father—a legendary Japanese composer and the owner of a major music production and publishing company—invited Igarashi to contribute to a project. This opportunity marked the beginning of his long-term career in composition for media. Although his mentor passed away in 2021, his influence continues to shape Igarashi’s creative and professional philosophy.
Igarashi has since composed music for Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Amazon, Netflix, Nintendo, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, among numerous internationally recognized brands. His work is defined by versatility, seamlessly moving between orchestral scoring, contemporary commercial styles, and high-energy broadcast music.

One of his most notable projects is his contribution to the World Athletics Championships 2025, created in collaboration with Sony. Tasked with capturing the emotional intensity of athletes competing at the highest level, Igarashi crafted music that conveys both focus and cinematic scale. Another standout project is Nissin Cup Noodle’s “Samurai Spirits” campaign, a visually ambitious global series that paired orchestral music with modern rap elements, creating a powerful contrast between tradition and contemporary energy.
In 2023, Igarashi composed music and sound design for Hyundai Motors’ CES exhibition in Las Vegas, a technically demanding project requiring precise synchronization with a 360-degree visual installation. The work underscored his ability to operate at the intersection of composition, sound design, and technology.
In addition to commercial and event-based work, Igarashi’s music has been widely featured on American television through APM Music, appearing across hundreds of episodes on major broadcast networks. His compositions are frequently used in high-energy sports programming, reflecting his strength in creating music that enhances momentum and emotional impact.
Most recently, Igarashi returned to performance as a pianist for Silent Hill f, recording three orchestral ending theme songs for the globally recognized franchise. Looking ahead, he is focused on developing integrated music-and-visual projects using emerging AI tools, with the goal of producing original content that merges sound, image, and storytelling for modern platforms.
